Spring Time Fun on a Budget

Spring is right around the corner (or at least we hope it is after the weather of these past couple days!). Once the nice weather hits, families have the opportunity to plan countless activities with families and friends to enjoy both the indoors and outdoors. Spring is all about refreshing and restarting after a long winter – especially in Wisconsin. If you are you running a little short on creative ideas for your spring time fun then read on for our list of top 5 activities that are great for your family and your wallet.

Top 5 Family-Friendly, Budget-Friendly Spring Time Fun Activities

We might be biased, but taking a trip with the family to go bowling is some of the most fun you can have all spring. Taking the time to disconnect from technology and reconnecting with family/friends while enjoying a game of bowling is key. With this in mind, JB’s on 41 is hosting the next event in our Mission: Reconnect series. On Tuesday, April 12, bring the family out for a game or two of bowling, food, and a no-tech family time.  Click here to book online.

Game Night

We all have our favorite classic board games. Monopoly, Life, and Sorry! have turned living rooms into game rooms for years. Set a day each week to play a mix of classic and new family games. Tech Crunch has some great suggestions.

Kite Day

Challenging the family to make their own kites can be quite enjoyable. Gather up some old materials or buy some cheap supplies to jumpstart the building process. Instructables.com has a very simple design option if your family has never experimented with kite making.  Now, can you get a kite to fly?

Paper Airplane Competition

Perhaps the cheapest, but also quite possibly the most fun, a paper airplane challenge is a great option. Your family will be excited to try different designs and throw their project the furthest. If your family passes the traditional folds, try out these advanced paper plane designs.

Put on a Play

Let your family’s imagination run wild this spring. Imagination is key to a non-tech time, and creating a play in the living room or backyard is an effective way to boost creativity! Take a trip to purchase cheap supplies to grow the family costume/prop boxes. You will create memories for years to come.
