Pumpkin Everything!

Fall: the time for scarves, warm drinks, beautiful scenery, and all things pumpkin. There are a variety of pumpkin flavored treats that you all may enjoy. We’re especially excited that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back!

Not just that, but the time to break out the cookbook and Pinterest recipes has come. There are so many family-friendly recipes to do with your kids. Pumpkins are practically everywhere! We’ve rounded up some of the easiest, tastiest pumpkin recipes to make with your kids:

Sugar-and-Spice Pumpkin Seeds

Toss pumpkin seeds in melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice OR the pumpkin-pie spice seasoning. Bake at 300°F until golden brown, about 30 minutes.

Pumpkined Pancakes

Add 1/2 cup pumpkin puree and 1/2 tsp pumpkin-pie spice to your favorite pancake batter.

Spread-able Pumpkin

Stir pumpkin puree and pumpkin-pie spice into cream cheese. Spread on bagels – may we suggest pumpkin seed bagels?

Pumpmus and Pita

Elevate your traditional hummus and pita chips by combining 2 cups pumpkin puree, 2 Tbsp tahini, 1 garlic clove, 1 tsp olive oil, ½ tsp ground cumin and ½ tsp salt in a food processor. Grab the pita chips and enjoy!

Pumpkins are so very versatile. We use them to bake things, create crafty beverages, carve them, and even bowl with them. That’s right. PUMPKIN BOWLING!

How to Play Pumpkin Bowling

– Set up 10 rolls of paper towels in the standard bowling pin formation.

– Use a black marker to make the paper towel rolls into ghosts!

– Stand a good distance back – the further back, the harder it is to bowl!

– Send your pumpkin down the “lane” and knock as many paper towel rolls down as possible.

– Knocked all 10 down? You got a strike! Celebrate with trick-or-treating candy!
